Description

The role of leadership has changed over the last three years. What is the role of a leader in managing a crisis? What is the role of the leader in imagining a new future for learners? How do leaders respond to the needs of stakeholders while planning for a future that isn’t known? This course will help leaders "move to the balcony'' as they reflect on their leadership during the pandemic versus the leadership needed to transform the educational experience for all stakeholders. You will also leave this course with short and long term strategies as you reimagine your leadership practices.

Learning Intentions:

  • Compare and contrast short-term leadership practices to a more long-term aspirational leadership style
  • Explore various leadership models in order to establish strategies that are more aligned to a personalized, competency-based system

eCampus by CESA #1 is a collection of virtual learning experiences covering a wide range of topics that focus on building the capacity of educators to positively impact learners. Each course will provide an overview of the “why” and “what” behind a specific practice and then take a deeper dive into HOW educators can bring the practice to life in their unique context. These learning experiences include opportunities for reflection on, and application of, specific instructional practices, strategies, and frameworks. The Learner-Centered Practice and Leading Learner-Centered Education series of courses align with the i4PL model.

All eCampus courses are self-paced, asynchronous and designed to take approximately four hours to complete. Content in courses designated with a I, II, or III are designed to be taken in order. All other courses can be accessed in any order. Enrollment is rolling due to the self-paced nature of the courses.

Important Dates: Registration opens May 16, 2023; Access to courses begins July 1, 2023; Registration closes May 15, 2024; All coursework must be completed by June 15, 2024.
