Description
You believe in creating a learner-centered environment for your learners, but where do you start? As an educator, you have to examine your own mindsets and beliefs to set the stage for transforming your space from a legacy environment to one that empowers learners and promotes independence. This course is designed for educators familiar with the idea of learner-centered practice, but who are at the beginning stages of making the shift in their practice. You will walk through several activities and experiences that will help frame your thinking and identify starting points to develop a learner-centered environment.
This course is aligned with the i4PL Honeycomb framework for learner-centered practice.
Learning Intentions:
- Compare/contrast the role educators play in a learner-centered environment to your own personal experience
- Identify your personal connection to the role of educator as a learning coach
- Create actionable steps to sustain a learner-centered environment
