Implementing the Workshop Model in the Secondary Classroom 2024-25

The workshop model can help increase engagement and agency for both students and teachers. This course will explore the components of the workshop model for secondary classrooms (mini-lesson, practice/collaborative time, and debrief/reflect) and provide best practices for effectively structuring classroom time for each.

Learning Intentions:

• Understand the workshop model and the benefits of using it in a secondary classroom
• Explore effective mini-lessons
• Learn best practices for structuring class time

eCampus by CESA 1 is a collection of virtual learning experiences covering a wide range of topics that focus on building the capacity of educators to positively impact learners. All eCampus courses are self-paced and asynchronous. Enrollment is rolling due to the self-paced nature of the courses.

Content in courses designated with a I, II, or III are designed to be taken in order. All other other courses can be accessed in any order. The Learner-Centered Practice and Leading Learner-Centered Education series of courses align with the i4PL model.
