Description
What is LETRS Training? LETRS is an empowering professional development course of study for instructors of reading, spelling, and related language skills. Facilitated by local experts familiar with the CESA 1 region, it provides knowledge, instructional coaching and tools that every teacher can use.
This series will provide:
- In-depth knowledge based on the most current research regarding what, when, and how language skills need to be taught
- Guidance on how to plan and balance word recognition and comprehension instruction
- Ways to assess student language development for prevention and intervention
- Information on how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
This training meets Act 20 Teacher Training Requirements.
Audience: Instructional Coaches, EL and Special Education Teachers, Interventionists, K4-3rd Grade Classroom Teachers, Reading Specialists, Reading Teachers, and Administrators
Summer Cohort Dates:
- July 15, 2026
- July 23, 2026
- July 29, 2026
- August 10, 2026
All sessions run 9:00am-3:00pm at the CESA 1 office.
Registration for the summer cohort closes June 28, 2026; cancelations made after this date will not be accepted or refunded. Registration is transferrable to a staff member in your district.
Fall Cohort Dates:
- September 14, 2026
- October 5, 2026
- November 4, 2026
- December 3, 2026

Choose one cohort to attend. Sessions cannot be interchanged with other cohorts.
Cost includes online module access and book.
LETRS Volume 1 includes 35-36 hours of independent online learning completed outside of the workshop dates.
