Legal Series 2026-27

This series will provide frequent updates of current legal topics relating to special education. Topics will be generated based on situations relevant to the CESA 1 region.

Time will be allotted following each session for dialogue and conversation with the presenters.

Audience: Special Education Directors, Program Support Staff, and Building Principals

Presenters: Renae Aldana and Emily Turzinski, Buelow Vetter Buikema Olson & Vliet, LLC

There will be 3 in-person dates at the CESA 1 office, and 3 virtual dates. Please note the different times for some of the events.

Meeting 1: August 18, 2026 from 8:30 - 10:00 AM (Virtual)

Meeting 2: October 9, 2026 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM (CESA 1)

Meeting 3: December 2, 2026 from 8:30 - 10:00 AM (CESA 1) 

Meeting 4: January 29, 2027 from 8:30 - 10:00 AM (Virtual)

Meeting 5: March 5, 2027 from 8:30 - 10:00 AM (Virtual)

Meeting 6: May 14, 2027 from 9:30 - 11:00 AM (CESA 1)

For the virtual sessions, participants will receive the login information prior to each session through the Neon CRM registration system emails. Virtual sessions will not be recorded.

For the in-person sessions at CESA 1, check-in will start 30 minutes before the legal update begins at 8:00 AM. 30 minutes will also be alotted after the session for dialogue and conversation with the presenters.
