Description

A free career repository with resources for female middle and high school students interested in exploring manufacturing career opportunities! The repository will open on November 3, 2021 and an email that contains the access link will be sent to all registrants.

In Southeastern Wisconsin, women comprise less than 8% of the manufacturing workforce. In addition, less than 5% of students participating in the manufacturing pathway are female.

With a predicted talent shortage of nearly 10,000 positions in the region by 2025, women have a huge opportunity to enter and advance in manufacturing careers.

Participating students will:

  • learn about opportunities in the manufacturing career pathway
  • explore the diverse skill sets and post-secondary education/certifications necessary for these careers
  • have the opportunity to view video resources that feature area women who are currently working in the manufacturing sector

This is open to all interested female students and their instructors, but registration is required in order to obtain access to the resources.

When registering, please indicate the estimated number of students who will be accessing the resources.

The Women in Manufacturing Career Repository is hosted by CESA #1 and funded through a Non-Traditional Occupations Grant through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as part of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (or Perkins V).
