Description

What do you do when you suspect your EL may have special education needs?

CESA #1 invites you to participate in a 4-part book study on Special Education Considerations for Multilingual Learners: Delivering a Continuum of Services (Third Edition) by Else Hamay, Barbara Marler, Cistina Sanchez-Lopez, and Jack Damico. 

During our study, participants will…

  • delve into understanding how to identify and evaluate challenges that ELs encounter in their learning
  • apply research-based interventions
  • gather evidence to analyze the outcomes of the interventions
  • find the value in shifting their views and analyze students holistically and through a culturally appropriate lens


As a result, participants will be able to apply their knowledge at their schools so that students’ needs will be met and schools will follow a holistic, scientific, and systematic identification framework as part of a comprehensive evaulation.

Participants will receive a copy of Special Education Considerations for Multilingual Learners: Delivering a Continuum of Services (Third Edition)

Audience: EL and Special Education Teachers and Coordinators, School Psychologists, Principals, Directors of Student Services, and anyone else who is responsible for conducting student evaluations
