Description
Audience: 4th and 5th grade teachers and support staff working with students exiting or currently receiving support through Act 20 Personalized Reading Plans.
This workshop will provide practical guidance to foster literacy success and ensure every student thrives. Participants will explore strategies to build foundational reading skills in older students, gain insight into best practices for supporting struggling readers, and deepen their understanding of the requirements outlined in Wisconsin's Act 20 legislation.
Participants will:
- Learn effective techniques for strengthening decoding skills
- Explore methods enabling students to read fluently and with increased confidence
- Discover activities to expand vocabulary development
- Examine instructional practices aimed at improving reading comprehension for less-secure readers
