Description
Audience: Leaders of Mathematics, Teachers of Mathematics (all levels), Instructional Coaches, Curriculum Coordinators, Math Specialists & Interventionists; District teams are encouraged!
Description: Leaders of mathematics are vital to schools. This network will allow participants to synthesize conditions, structures and policies that must exist for all students to learn mathematics. The goal of these sessions is to empower math leaders to explore essential components of teaching and learning, curriculum and assessments, as well as student access to rigorous mathematics. Participants will also engage in instructional planning based on the strategic use of data.
This network will help support math leaders to:
- Develop and foster leadership and coaching to support a school/district vision of mathematics
- Implement high quality, rigorous classroom instruction as it aligns to the effective math teaching practices (NCTM) and the WI State Standards for Mathematics
- Share and utilize high-quality math resources
- Support intervention and SDI delivery through the lens of learning progressions in mathematics
- Connect and cultivate partnerships with local, regional, and state stakeholders
Network Dates: October 10, 2025, December 12, 2025, January 9, 2026, February 6, 2026, March 13, 2026 and May 15, 2026
This network will include a book study. Principles to Actions, 10th Anniversary (NCTM, 2024). Lead authors include Steve Leinwand, DeAnn Huinker and Daniel Brahier.
Participants are required to purchase and bring their own book to network meetings.
